The Exhausted Earth

“..Now we have to save the spring from the substances with which we almost killed her. We ran among the flowers, now we sit on the walls”

(Rachel Carson)

The World Earth Day is today, April 22nd, and is linked to biologist Rachel Carson, the woman who first set off the alarm on pesticide pollution.
Her book, “Silent Spring” is the cornerstone of environmentalism, a book that accuses  intensive agriculture and the use of chemistry of killing the sea and the environment.

Even comparing it to the 1960s, it is clear that her theories do not differ much from the situation in which Mother Earth is at, at this very moment. Every year there are themes that are highlighted, themes that are always “hot topics,” and this years focus has been on food waste, which causes a domino effect, and creates imbalances to the health of the planet.

Adding to this: the pollution of air, water, and soil, the destruction of ecosystems, the thousands of plants and animal species that disappear, and the depletion of non-renewable resources.
Indifferent silence is slowly killing the planet.
There are many solutions that could eliminate the negative effects of human activity, such as recycling materials, the conservation of natural resources (oil and fossil gases), ending the destruction of basic habitats such as rain forests, protection of endangered specials, and a ban on the use of harmful chemicals.

Over the years, participation in Earth Day all over the world has grown tremendously; it is the affirmation of the “Green Generation,” which looks to a future free from fossil fuel energy, in favor of renewable sources.
Individual empowerment leads to sustainable consumption and an educational system inspired by environmental issues. Even by simply using cleaner cosmetics products, such as OLGA COLA Cosmetics, you can make a difference.
Needless to say, together anything is possible. Our responsibility toward the planet is undeniable.

Make Every Day Earth Day.
